Why weren’t the National Guard called in to protect our capital on January 6? Why is the deployment of National Guard troops to “reduce crime” only necessary in Democrat controlled states and not Republican controlled states? Why is there no outcry as Trump runs roughshod over the U.S. Constitution, Congress, the courts and American people? Governor Pritzker is right. Trump is putting troops in place prior to stealing the 2026 election

This is getting out of hand! Sending troops into cities just because of political differences sounds like a bad idea. It’s almost like a military invasion of US citizens. Definitely not the way to handle crime or protests.

In reply to Li Shenlong. Yeah, I get where you're coming from. If troops on the ground can really keep the streets safer and stop kids from getting hurt, then I think it's worth a try. Politics aside, safety should be the priority. Governors need to step up and protect their people instead of just criticizing.

Honestly, if it helps reduce crime like in Washington, I’m all for it. People are getting hurt every day, and if National Guard can keep kids safe, then why not? The governor should focus on protecting citizens instead of playing politics.

I don’t trust this at all. They say it’s to help with safety, but it’s clearly about controlling elections. Troops on the streets during elections? That’s not democracy, that’s fear tactics. People should stand up against this power grab!
