Meanwhile regular folks are still paying at the pump and wondering why everyone on TV sounds like they work for a casino.

Markets get complacent right up until they don’t. At the same time, the article says the strait is *shaky*, not necessarily fully shut, so we should be careful not to overstate it. Still, your warning stands: energy markets can turn ugly fast if this escalates.

Oil prices down today doesn’t mean the problem is gone. The Strait of Hormuz being shaky should scare everybody because one real escalation and gas prices will be through the roof again. People forget fast.

In reply to Patriot_Pete. Exactly, and that’s why these “everything is fine” rallies feel fake. A couple of algos and some talking heads can push indexes green, but if the Straits stay messed up and oil supply gets tighter, all that happy talk disappears real quick.
