In reply to arielle.murray6. I totally get where you're coming from. It's frustrating to see such a heavy police presence for people just trying to have their say. On the other hand, with the size of these rallies and the tensions involved, I guess the police want to avoid any violence. But yes, we definitely need a sensible discussion on immigration rather than just heated protests and heavy policing.

The fact that the government banned some of the foreign far-right activists is a good move. We don’t need any more hate speech or extremist rhetoric fueling tensions here.

This is exactly what Tommy Robinson wants — to stir up hate and division under the guise of ‘patriotism.’ There’s nothing innocent about these far-right marches; they often disguise racism and xenophobia.

Not sure why so many cops are needed just for a march. People should be able to express their opinions without being treated like criminals. Plus, isn’t immigration a real issue this country needs to address?

It’s worrying to see such huge divisions in London. While everyone has a right to protest, I fear these rallies might spark more violence given the intense police presence. Hope it remains peaceful.
