You bring up a really important point. It’s one thing to have strict immigration policies, but mistreating people, regardless of their status, goes against fundamental human values. No matter the politics, we should always treat people with dignity and respect.

Mistreating people is not about Political Theatre. These are people who for whatever reason left their homelands to come to the U.S. and we can actually agree with trump that it was wrong to allow millions of unvetted immigrants to enter the country. But to go to the measures that the administration is going to, in an attempt to deport them, by hurting them and putting them in deplorable conditions is “NOT AMERICAN”, it’s just not the way deportation should be handled.

Honestly, I don’t see how putting Trump and his team there would be a bad idea. They set up this place so poorly in such a sensitive area, with no regard for the environment or human rights. Maybe experiencing it themselves would make them rethink their policies.

Finally, some justice! It’s heartbreaking to hear how those migrants were treated like animals, especially in such a dangerous place like the Everglades. We should be finding humane solutions, not creating prisons for people who are just looking for safety.
