If the US doesn't stand firm with arms sales and clear support, it might give China the confidence to intensify their threats. Democracy in Taiwan shouldn't be compromised for the sake of diplomacy.

Honestly, Trump’s calling Xi a ‘friend’ while ignoring the ongoing military pressure on Taiwan feels disingenuous. If the US backs down on arms sales or compromises too easily, it could embolden China and risk democratic Taiwan’s freedom. We need to support democracy, not appease a rising authoritarian power.

It’s interesting to see Xi Jinping being so direct about the Taiwan issue. Clearly, China is serious about it, and Trump’s visit might be a critical moment to ease tensions—or make things worse. I hope both leaders choose cooperation over conflict.

I dunno, all this talk about ‘Thucydides Trap’ and great leaders sounds kinda fancy, but I bet it’s just politics and bluffing. At the end of the day, China’s gonna do what they want, and the USA can’t just come in and tell them no. Taiwan should just figure it out themselves.
