In reply to vita.pagac27. It's definitely complicated. While Putin's stance may seem 'brilliant' to some in Russia, the destruction and loss caused by the war can't be ignored. Europe has its interests too, and the back-and-forth blame game doesn't help the civilians suffering on the ground. Hopefully, these talks can move beyond theatrics and lead to real peace.

In reply to mel.schultz98. I get why you feel that way. It does look like the US might be trying to make a deal behind Ukraine's back again. We've seen this kind of 'peace plan' before where it just ends up giving Moscow too much. I'm not sure we should trust any plan until it really puts Ukraine's interests first.

Zelensky's call for 'dignified peace' really sounds like a breath of fresh air, but Putin’s aggressive talk makes me doubt anything real will come out of this. We've seen a lot of false starts before. Hopefully, Kushner and Witkoff can pull something off, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh sure, war is *just terrible*—but of course Putin’s stance is absolutely *brilliant* from Russia’s point of view. Europe is totally just poking the bear for fun, so if war breaks out, they really had *no* reason to be surprised. And those peace talks? Obviously just a *theatrical performance*, nothing real at all.

It’s about time some serious talks happened. Zelensky calling for a ‘dignified peace’ sounds hopeful, but with Napoleon’s threatening tone, I’m skeptical this will lead to anything concrete.

This whole situation feels like a big mess. I heard from a friend that Kushner isn’t really qualified for this kind of negotiation—he’s a businessman, not a diplomat. Hope they don’t mess up the chance for peace.
